The Milk Chair was designed as a modern reflection on the classic milking stool. 

 

Using tradition and heritage as a starting point, the Milk Chair evolved through a natural and fluid process honouring the purity of simplicity to define a reduced and pared down form.

 

The essence was always to highlight the craft and materiality while ensuring a refined and receptive feel. Crafting the chair from ash and thin plywood ensured a rich tactility that wants to be touched and used.

 

The sculptural backrest sweeps around and envelops the body ensuring support, comfort and a sense of security. 

 

Designed to subtly settle into its surroundings the Milk Chair has a quiet yet strong poise that asserts it’s presents but doesn’t dominate the environment.
