Hest

Hest is the playful culmination of many years of research, analysis and exploration.

​

We wanted to simulate the action of saddle sitting and all the benefits it encourages, while creating a dynamic and sculptural form.

​

The seat is a hand carved fiberglass shell with geometry that encourages an open, active and engaged posture.

​

The powerful, robust and beautiful structure of the horses skeletal system was used as inspiration for the legs and frame. This angular form enables a flex and bend through the frame to give a gentle pivoting action while sitting.

 

The stool was designed in two heights, a standard low sitting height and a high stool version.
