The concept of Grounded is inspired by our in-depth research into the postures assumed when small groups assemble informally while working, learning, connecting. We were struck by how inappropriate seating solutions caused awkward interactions and how ill-conceived tables created unsatisfactory solutions.
Grounded provides a standing height working surface with a deep foot-plate, to enable adequate, comfortable and highly ergonomic grounding for the users’ feet, so they feel completely natural and comfortable, when sitting up in a higher position. This enables co-workers to remain standing at the same table, without breaking the eye-lines during collaborative efforts. It also makes the act of moving and standing much more accessible.
