Perch Studio Portobello

 

We had the privilege of renovating an old disused battery factory in the heart of Portobello Square next to the Dublin canal.

​

This traditional factory style building with north facing roof windows flooded the space with light.

​

Our goal was to construct 3 different environments. Studio, Workshop and Event space.

​

We invited designers, makers and artist to take desk space in the elevated studio that was built over the kitchen and cozy meeting meeting. 

​

A large scale workshop was constructed to accommodate

the multi disciplinary skills of the different artist, crafts people and designers.

​

The large light filled main area was the perfect social space for events and seminars while also providing a gallery space for local artist. It also doubled as a set for photographers and film makers.

 

Externally we availed of the large scale canvas of the structure to encourage and showcase some of Ireland's up and coming and best graffiti artists.
